Section 40-12-305 Implementation of FORT system. (a)(1) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection
(a) of Section 32-6-65, no later than January 1, 2022, the department shall develop, maintain,
and make available a fleet online registration and tax system, known as the FORT system, which
shall allow a fleet operator to do all of the following: a. Remit for each fleet vehicle the
ad valorem taxes as required by Section 40-12-253, levied under Chapter 8. b. Remit license
taxes and registration fees levied under this chapter in a manner as prescribed by the department
by rule. c. Facilitate the issuance of a license plate as required by Chapter 6 of Title 32
and this chapter, in conformance with Section 32-6-710 and rules adopted thereunder. (2) The
FORT system shall be available for motor vehicle registration periods beginning on and after
January 1, 2022, provided the fleet operator complies with this article and any rules adopted

Section 23-1-64 Disposal of surplus personal property - Department to be responsible for disposal;
sale at fair market value and payment; preferences; notification by municipalities and counties.
(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 41-16-120 to 41-16-125, inclusive, the State
Department of Transportation shall be responsible for the distribution, transfer, or disposal
of all surplus personal property owned by the department. (b) The State Department of Transportation

Section 32-6-253.1 Removable windshield placard; unauthorized use of parking places. (a) Any
person who submits to the Department of Veterans Affairs an application which includes satisfactory
proof that he or she meets the military service and award requirements to be issued a license
plate authorized by Section 32-6-250, shall be issued a removable windshield placard displaying
the appropriate military honor or veteran status. The application shall be on a form approved
by the Department of Veterans Affairs. There shall be no fee for the removable windshield
placard. (b) The removable windshield placard shall be prepared by the Department of Veterans
Affairs in cooperation with the Department of Revenue. (c) The removable windshield placard
shall be designed to hang from the front windshield rearview mirror when the vehicle is parked
in a parking space reserved for persons with the corresponding military honor or veteran status.

Section 32-7A-3 Powers and duties of department. (a) The department shall administer and enforce
the provisions of this chapter and shall make such reasonable rules and regulations concerning
any matter administered in this chapter and shall provide for hearings upon the request of

Section 45-25-240.27 Monthly roster; renewal by mail. (a) The DeKalb County Commission shall
furnish additional and sufficient personnel to the county tax assessor's office for the purpose
of researching and obtaining the name of each county resident that owns a motor vehicle. The
name of the owner shall be placed on a separate monthly roster, depending on the first letter
of their last name as set forth by Act 79-797. This roster shall be completed by the first
day of November 1980. (b) The tax assessor shall, on the first day of December, 1980, mail

Section 45-8-200.08 Application by mail. All applications for motor vehicle tags by mail and
the correct amount of taxes and fees shall be received by the commissioner of licenses on
or before the last day of the month of expiration, and the commissioner of licenses shall
mail such tag forthwith. Applications by mail which are postmarked on or before the last day
of the month of expiration are deemed to have been received by the license commissioner on
the date of the postmark. The commissioner of licenses shall charge and collect a reasonable
fee for each motor vehicle license tag issued by mail, in addition to all fees prescribed

The license plates shall be of a design to be prescribed by the Commissioner of Revenue, provided
the plates shall bear the words "Pearl Harbor Survivor" and prominently display
