Section 32-6-1.1 Continued validity of driver's license for military personnel deployed outside United States; renewal procedures. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the driver's license of any resident of this state who is a member of the National Guard or the Armed Forces of the United States whose driver's license has expired and who is on active duty and deployed outside the United States shall be valid as long as the military member has on his or her person a copy of valid military orders with any amendments. (b) The Department of Public Safety may develop procedures authorizing members of the National Guard and armed forces receiving orders to be deployed outside the United States to renew their driver's licenses up to one year prior to the expiration of the license.
