Section 37-15-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter the following words have the following meanings: (1) APPROXIMATE LOCATION OF UNDERGROUND FACILITIES. Information about an operator's underground facilities which is provided to a person by an operator and must be accurate to within 18 inches measured horizontally from the outside edge of each side of such operator's facility, or a strip of land 18 inches either side of the operator's field mark or the marked width of the facility plus 18 inches on each side of the marked width of the facility. (2) AUTHORITY. The Underground Damage Prevention Authority created under Section 37-15-10.1. (3) AUTHORITY BOARD. The Underground Damage Prevention Board created under Section 37-15-10.1. Section 23-1-274 Erection or maintenance of signs - Controls; criteria. The director shall effectively control, or cause to be controlled, the erection and maintenance of outdoor advertising signs, displays, and devices in all business areas that are erected subsequent to February 10, 1971. Whenever a bona fide state, county, or local zoning authority has made a determination of customary use as to size, lighting, and spacing, such determination may be accepted in lieu of controls by agreement in the zoned commercial and industrial area within the geographical jurisdiction of such authority. Section 45-4-111 Electronic voting system authorized; requirements for use. (a) As used in this section: (1) "Automatic tabulating equipment" shall mean apparatus which automatically examines and counts votes recorded on paper ballots or ballot cards and tabulates the results. Section 45-37A-331.05 Power and jurisdiction of municipal court; contesting liability; fines and costs; affirmative defenses. (a) The municipal court is vested with the power and jurisdiction to hear and adjudicate the civil violations provided for in this part, and to issue orders imposing the civil fines and costs set out in this part. (b) A person who receives a notice of violation may contest the imposition of the civil fine by submitting a request for a hearing on the adjudication of the civil violation, in writing, within 15 days of the 10th day after the date the notice of violation is mailed. For the purposes of this division, unless otherwise indicated, the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) ADJACENT AREA. (a) It is a violation of this section for any person to drive any vehicle on any public highway in any race, speed competition or contest, drag race or acceleration contest, test of physical endurance, exhibition of speed or acceleration, or for the purpose of making a speed record.
