Section 32-5A-215 Pedestrians on roadways. (a) Where a sidewalk is provided and its
use is practicable, it shall be unlawful for any pedestrian to walk along and upon an adjacent
roadway. (b) Where a sidewalk is not available, any pedestrian walking along and upon a highway
shall walk only on a shoulder, as far as practicable from the edge of the roadway. (c) Where
neither a sidewalk nor a shoulder is available any pedestrian walking along and upon a highway
shall walk as near as practicable to an outside edge of the roadway, and if on a two-way roadway,
shall walk only on the left side of the roadway. (d) Except as otherwise provided in this
chapter, any pedestrian upon a roadway shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the

Section 32-1-1.1 Definitions. The following words and phrases when used in this title,
for the purpose of this title, shall have meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section,
except when the context otherwise requires: (1) ALLEY. A street or highway intended to provide
access to the rear or side of lots or buildings in urban districts and not intended for the

Section 32-5A-80 Driving on right side of roadway; exceptions. (a) Upon all roadways
of sufficient width, a vehicle shall be driven upon the right half of the roadway, except
under any of the following conditions: (1) When overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding
in the same direction under the rules governing such movement. (2) When an obstruction exists
making it necessary to drive to the left of the center of the highway; provided, any person

Section 32-5A-33 Pedestrian-control signals. Whenever special pedestrian-control signals
exhibiting the words or symbols "walk" or "don't walk" are in place such
signals shall indicate as follows: (1) "WALK". Pedestrians facing such signal may
proceed across the roadway in the direction of the signal and shall be given the right of
way by the drivers of all vehicles. (2) "DON'T WALK". No pedestrian shall start
to cross the roadway in the direction of such signal, but any pedestrian who has partially
completed his or her crossing on the walk signal shall proceed to a sidewalk or safety island

Section 32-5A-58.3 Yielding right-of-way to vehicles and pedestrian workers engaged
in collection of garbage, trash, refuse, or recycling materials. (a) The driver of a motor
vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian worker engaged in the collection of garbage,
trash, refuse, or recycling materials along a roadway whenever the driver is reasonably notified

Section 32-5A-136 Stopping, standing, or parking outside of business or residence districts.
(a) Outside a business or residence district no person shall stop, park, or leave standing
any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, upon the roadway when it is practicable to stop,

Section 32-5-241 Additional permissible lights on vehicles. (a) Spot lamps and auxiliary
