Section 32-5A-84 Limitations on overtaking on left. No vehicle shall be driven to the
left side of the center of the roadway in overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding
in the same direction unless such left side is clearly visible and is free of oncoming traffic
for a sufficient distance ahead to permit such overtaking and passing to be completely made
without interfering with the operation of any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction
or any vehicle overtaken. In every event the overtaking vehicle must return to an authorized
lane of travel as soon as practicable and in the event the passing movement involves the use
of a lane authorized for vehicles approaching from the opposite direction, before coming within

notice of violation by United States mail to the owner of the motor vehicle which is recorded
by the photographic traffic signal enforcement system, photographic stop sign enforcement

Section 8-20-7.1 Compensation of dealers for recall repairs. (a) For the purposes of
this section, the following words have the following meanings: (1) MANUFACTURER. A
manufacturer, distributor or wholesaler, factory branch, or distributor branch. (2) STOP-SALE
ORDER. A notification issued by a manufacturer to its franchised new motor vehicle dealers
stating that certain used vehicles in inventory shall not be sold or leased, at either retail
or wholesale, due to a federal safety recall for a defect or a noncompliance, or a federal
emissions recall. (b) A manufacturer shall compensate its new motor vehicle dealers for all
labor and parts required by the manufacturer to perform recall repairs. Compensation for recall

Section 32-12-24 Brakes. (a) Every motor-driven cycle when operated upon the highway
shall be equipped with brakes adequate to control the movement of and to stop and hold such
vehicle. (b) The Director of Public Safety is authorized to require an inspection of the brakes
of any motor-driven cycle and to disapprove any brakes which he finds are not adequate. (c)
All such brakes shall be maintained in good working order. (d) The Director of Public Safety
may refuse to register or he or she may suspend or revoke the registration of any motor-driven
cycle when he or she determines that the brakes thereon do not comply with the provisions
of this section. (e) No person shall operate on any highway any motor-driven cycle
in the event the Director of Public Safety has disapproved the brake equipment on such cycle

Section 32-5-221 Flares or other warning devices - Display. (a) Whenever any truck,
passenger bus, truck tractor, trailer, semitrailer, or pole trailer is disabled upon the traveled
portion of any highway or the shoulder thereof outside of any municipality at any time when
lighted lamps are required on vehicles the driver of such vehicle shall display the following
warning devices upon the highway during the time the vehicle is so disabled on the highway
except as provided in subsection (b) of this section: (1) A lighted fusee or other

Section 32-5A-82 Overtaking vehicle on left. The following rules shall govern the overtaking
and passing of vehicles proceeding in the same direction, subject to those limitations, exceptions,
and special rules hereinafter stated: (1) The driver of a vehicle overtaking another vehicle
proceeding in the same direction shall pass to the left thereof at a safe distance and shall
