Section 32-5A-350 Definitions; prohibited activities; fines; exceptions. (a) For purposes
of this article, the following words have the following meanings: (1) WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATION
DEVICE. A handheld cellular telephone, a text-messaging device, a personal digital assistant,
a stand alone computer, or any other similar wireless device that is readily removable from
a vehicle and is used to write, send, or read text or data through manual input. The term
"wireless telecommunication device" does not include a device which is voice-operated
and which allows the user to send or receive a text-based communication without the use of
either hand except to activate or deactivate a feature or function. (2) WRITE, SEND, OR READ
A TEXT-BASED COMMUNICATION. Using a wireless telecommunication device to manually communicate
with any person using text-based communication, including, but not limited to, communications

Section 13A-11-61.2 Possession of firearms in certain places. (a) In addition to any
other place limited or prohibited by state or federal law, a person, including a person with
a permit issued under Section 13A-11-75(a)(1) or recognized under Section 13A-11-85,
may not knowingly possess or carry a firearm in any of the following places without the express
permission of a person or entity with authority over the premises: (1) Inside the building

Section 37-4-1 Definitions. Unless otherwise specified, when used in this article, these
terms shall have the following meanings: (1) COMMISSION. The Alabama Public Service Commission.

violations. (a) The provisions of this section shall apply to all counties having a
population of not less than 26,000 nor more than 26,800 inhabitants according to the 1970

of sufficient width, a vehicle shall be driven upon the right half of the roadway, except

Section 32-6-31 Terms of compact. The Driver License Compact is hereby enacted into
law and entered into with all other jurisdictions legally joining therein in the form substantially
as follows: Driver License Compact Article I Findings and Declaration of Policy (a) The party

Section 32-6-49.3 Definitions. Notwithstanding any other provision of this article,
the following definitions shall be applicable unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

Section 15-23-17 Assessment of additional costs and penalties; collection and disposition
of additional assessments, etc. (a) In all criminal and quasi-criminal proceedings for the
violation of laws of the state or municipal ordinances which are tried in any court or tribunal
in this state, wherein the defendant is adjudged guilty or pleads guilty, or is adjudicated
a juvenile delinquent or youthful offender, or wherein a bond is forfeited and the result
of the forfeiture is a final disposition of the case or wherein any penalty is imposed, there
