Section 45-49-230.01 Salary - Chief deputy sheriff; chief clerk; chief investigator; assistant chief deputy. In all counties having populations of not less than 300,000 nor more than 500,000 according to the last federal decennial census, the chief deputy sheriff shall be paid a salary of not less than Range 41, Step D, twenty-nine thousand three hundred forty dollars ($29,340) annually. (a) The Sheriff of Colbert County is hereby authorized to establish a sheriff reserve to be composed of such persons who may volunteer to serve as sheriff reserve officers of the sheriff's department.
