Section 41-10-541 Definitions. (a) The following words and phrases used in this division, and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of clear implication herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) APPROPRIATED FUNDS. Net TVA payments to the extent such payments are pledged and appropriated to the authority pursuant to Section 41-10-550. (2) AUTHORITY. The public corporation organized pursuant to this division. Section 16-25A-8 Funding of health insurance plan; participation; Public Education Employees' Health Insurance Fund. (a) The Public Education Employees' Health Insurance Board is hereby authorized to provide under the contract or contracts entered into under the provisions of this article an insurance benefit plan for each covered employee and, under certain conditions, retired employees; the cost of such plan may be funded in part or in full through monthly premiums per active employee from the same source of funds as those used for the payment of salaries of active members and in part from other funds. Section 16-27-7 Vehicle liability insurance for employees required to transport pupils. (a) The State Board of Education, each governing board of Alabama's public senior universities and each city and county board of education shall provide vehicle liability insurance for bus drivers or any other employee who is required to transport pupils. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation.
