Section 40-23-1 Definitions; transactions considered or not considered sales. (a) For the purpose of this division, the following terms shall have the respective meanings ascribed by this section: (1) PERSON or COMPANY. Used interchangeably, includes any individual, firm, copartnership, association, corporation, receiver, trustee, or any other group or combination acting as a unit and the plural as well as the singular number, unless the intention to give a more limited meaning is disclosed by the context. Section 32-12A-3 Application for registration; fees; registered agents. (a) An application for registration or continued registration shall be made to the Secretary of the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency or an authorized agent of the agency in a form prescribed by the secretary. The form shall state the name and address of every owner of the vehicle. (b) A person who purchases an all-terrain vehicle or recreational off-highway vehicle from a retail dealer shall make application for registration to the dealer at the point of sale. The dealer shall submit the completed registration application and fees to the secretary at least once each month. Section 32-12A-7 Fees; renewal of registration. (a) The fee for a three-year registration of an all-terrain vehicle or recreational off-highway vehicle under this section, other than those registered by a dealer or manufacturer, is as follows: (1) For public use, forty-five dollars ($45). (2) For private use, fifteen dollars ($15). (3) For a duplicate or transfer, five dollars ($5).
