Section 34-37-17 Violation; penalty. (a) The board shall have the administrative authority
to discipline or require a certificate holder to attend training specific to violations. The
board has the authority to levy civil fines or penalties to any registered apprentice, certificate
holder, or legal entity registered by the board for a violation of any provision of this chapter
regulating plumbers, gas fitters, or medical gas pipe fitters up to two thousand dollars ($2,000)
per violation and actual hearing cost. (b) In addition to or in lieu of the criminal penalties
and administrative sanctions provided in this chapter, the board may issue an order to any
person or legal entity engaged in any activity, conduct, or practice constituting a violation

including failure to pay the tax, to file the required reports, to keep the required books
and records or to comply with any rule or regulation issued by the Commissioner of Revenue

Section 25-7-16 Penalty for violations of article. If any labor organization violates
any provision of this article, it shall be penalized civilly in a sum not exceeding $1,000.00
for each such violation, to be recovered as a penalty in the circuit court of the county in
which the violation occurred, the action being brought in the name of the State of Alabama
by the district attorney of the circuit in which the violation occurred, and it shall be the

Section 13A-11-164 Refusal to testify by printer of libel or defamation. The printer
or proprietor of any newspaper, handbill, advertisement or libel, the publication of which
is punishable under this article, who refuses, when summoned, to appear and testify before
