Section 45-9-243.40 Privilege or license tax. (a) The following words, terms, and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: (1) PERSON. Any natural person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, receiver, trust, estate, or other entity, or any other group or combination of any thereof acting as a unit. (2) COUNTY. Section 28-4-54 Allowance of reward to sheriff, etc., furnishing evidence to support convictions for violations of Section 28-4-50. When any person is convicted of violating the provisions of Section 28-4-50, there shall be charged in the bill of cost the sum of $25.00, to be allowed the person who furnished the evidence and brought about the conviction of any person or persons for the violation of the said section; provided, that only one such amount shall be paid under this section for a conviction of any number of persons or for more than one conviction for a violation of said section where the evidence shows that the still, apparatus or appliance is one and the same.
