Section 31-13-19 Notification of federal and state authorities when unauthorized alien
convicted of violating state or federal law. If an alien who is unlawfully present in the
United States is convicted of a violation of state or local law and is within 30 days of release,
the agency legally responsible for his or her custody at that time shall notify the United
States Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Alabama Department of Homeland
Security, pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1373. The Alabama Department of Homeland Security shall
assist in the coordination of the transfer of the prisoner to the appropriate federal immigration
authorities; however, the agency legally responsible for his or her custody at that time shall

Section 31-13-3 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following words shall
have the following meanings: (1) ALIEN. Any person who is not a citizen or national of the

Section 36-18-21 Definitions. As used in this article, the following words, phrases
or terms shall have the following meanings, respectively unless the context thereof clearly
indicates otherwise: (a) DIRECTOR. Shall mean the Director of the Alabama Department of Forensic

Section 38-3-9 Adoption of rules; additional functions. The department shall adopt rules
pursuant to the Alabama Administrative Procedure Act to implement and administer this chapter

Section 40-17-371 Cost of collection; distribution of tax proceeds. (a) The Alabama
Department of Revenue shall retain one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of the tax proceeds,
less any refunds, from this additional excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel for its cost
of collection. The department may adopt rules and such forms as may be necessary for the administration
of the excise tax provided for in this article. (b) Each month, prior to the remaining payments
provided in this article, up to $750,000 of the tax proceeds from the additional excise tax

Section 38-4-14 Limitations on use of public assistance benefits. (a) For the purposes
of this section, the term public assistance benefits means money or property provided
directly or indirectly to eligible persons through programs of the federal government, the
state, or any political subdivision thereof, and administered by the Alabama Department of
Human Resources. (b)(1) A recipient of public assistance benefits may not use any portion
of the benefits for the purchase of any alcoholic beverage, tobacco product, or lottery ticket.
Any person who violates this subsection shall reimburse the Department of Human Resources
for the purchase and shall be subject to the following sanctions: a. Upon the first violation,
the person shall be disqualified from receiving public assistance benefits by means of direct
