Section 45-8-90 Economic Development Council - Creation; composition; powers and duties.
(a)(1) For the purposes of promoting industry and trade and economic development and to assist
Calhoun County and the municipalities located therein in their pursuits therefor and to provide
for the exercise by the county and the municipalities of certain powers and authority proposed
to be granted to them by an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama, the act proposing such
amendment being adopted at the same session of the Legislature at which the act adding this
section was adopted, there is hereby created an economic development council for Calhoun
County, which council shall constitute a public corporation under the name Calhoun County
Economic Development Council. (2) This section shall be liberally construed in conformity

Section 11-89C-4 Powers of public corporation; requirements for development or adoption
of rules, procedures, ordinances, etc. (a) When expressly required to comply with storm water
laws, any public corporation created pursuant to this chapter shall have the following powers:

Section 27-1-17 Limitation periods for payment of claims; overdue claims; retroactive
denials, adjustments, etc.; penalties. (a) Each insurer, health service corporation, and health
benefit plan that issues or renews any policy of accident or health insurance providing benefits
for medical or hospital expenses for its insured persons shall pay for services rendered by
Alabama health care providers within 45 calendar days upon receipt of a clean written claim
or 30 calendar days upon receipt of a clean electronic claim. If the insurer, health service
corporation, or health benefit plan is denying or pending the claim, the insurer, health service
corporation, or health benefit plan shall, within 45 calendar days for a written claim and
30 calendar days for an electronic claim, notify the health care provider or certificate holder

Section 34-11-36 Receipts and disbursements. The executive director of the board shall
receive and account for all money derived under this chapter. All funds collected shall be
deposited with the State Treasurer. With the exception of the civil penalties deposited in
the General Fund as provided in Section 34-11-11.1, the State Treasurer shall keep
the money in a separate fund to be known as the "Professional Engineers and Professional

Section 40-12-252 Basis of tax for trailers; permanent license plate. (a) The following
annual license taxes and registration fees are hereby imposed and shall be charged for each
trailer, other than manufactured homes, operated on the public highways of this state: (1)
For each privately owned utility trailer or travel trailer, which is not operated for hire,
lease, or rental, twelve dollars ($12). (2) For each utility trailer, rented or leased for
compensation of any kind or nature, fifteen dollars ($15). (3) For each truck or tractor trailer

vehicles, as defined by Section 40-12-240, from escaping taxation and to provide for
the more efficient assessment and collection of taxes due on same, no license shall be issued

Section 16-25-11 Creditable service. (a) Under such rules and regulations as the Board
of Control shall adopt, each person who was a teacher prior to October 1, 1940, and who under
the provisions of this chapter makes up contributions plus eight percent compound interest
on such contributions for the time said teacher taught as a nonmember and who becomes a member
prior to October 1, 1974, shall file a detailed statement of all service as a teacher rendered
by him prior to October 1, 1940, for which he claims credit. The Board of Control shall fix
and determine by appropriate rules and regulations how much service in any year is equivalent
