Section 16-44-1 Governor authorized to enter into compact; form of compact. The Governor of the State of Alabama is hereby authorized to enter into the compact for education in the form substantially as follows: COMPACT FOR EDUCATION Article I. Purpose and Policy. A. (a) No business entity, employer, or public employer shall knowingly employ, hire for employment, or continue to employ an unauthorized alien to perform work within the State of Alabama. Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a) As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR.
