Section 16-44-1 Governor authorized to enter into compact; form of compact. The Governor of the State of Alabama is hereby authorized to enter into the compact for education in the form substantially as follows: COMPACT FOR EDUCATION Article I. Purpose and Policy. A. It is the purpose of this compact to: 1. Establish and maintain close cooperation and understanding among executive, legislative, professional education and lay leadership on a nationwide basis at the state and local levels. 2. Provide a forum for the discussion, development, crystallization and recommendation of public policy alternatives in the field of education. 3. Section 19-3B-103 Definitions. In this chapter: (1) ACTION, with respect to an act of a trustee, includes a failure to act. (2) ASCERTAINABLE STANDARD means a standard relating to an individual's health, education, support, or maintenance within the meaning of Section 2041(b)(1)(A) or 2514(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as in effect on January 1, 2007, or as later amended. Section 22-23B-2 Definitions. The following words and phrases, whenever used in this chapter, shall have the following respective meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: AUTHORITY. Section 27-36A-4 Actuarial opinion of reserves. (a) Actuarial opinion prior to the operative date of the valuation manual as defined by Section 27-36A-15. (1) GENERAL. Every life insurance company doing business in this state shall annually submit the opinion of a qualified actuary as to whether the reserves and related actuarial items held in support of the policies and contracts specified by the commissioner by regulation are computed appropriately, are based on assumptions which satisfy contractual provisions, are consistent with prior reported amounts, and comply with applicable laws of this state.
