(g) In the event periodic payments are ordered under this section, the court shall order the judgment marked satisfied when the judgment debtor satisfies the court that he is adequately insured or posts security sufficient to assure full payment of such damages or purchases an annuity of sufficient value as set out in subsection (c) of this section. (h) It is the intent of the Legislature in enacting this section to require the entry of judgments in malpractice actions against health care providers which provide for the payment of future damages in excess of $150,000 through periodic payments rather than lump sum payments. Section 25-5-57 Compensation for disability. (a) Compensation schedule. Following is the schedule of compensation: (1) TEMPORARY TOTAL DISABILITY. For injury producing temporary total disability, the compensation shall be 66 2/3 percent of the average weekly earnings received at the time of injury, subject to a maximum and minimum weekly compensation as stated in Section 25-5-68, but if at the time of injury the employee received average weekly earnings of less than the minimum stated in Section 25-5-68, then he or she shall receive the full amount of the average weekly earnings per week. The investigation shall include a criminal background investigation and any other circumstances which might be relevant to the placement of an adoptee with the petitioners.
