Section 16-64-3 Certification of residency; evaluation of connections with State of Alabama. (a) An individual claiming to be a resident for purposes of this chapter shall certify by a signed statement each of the following: (1) A specific address or location within the State of Alabama as his or her residence. (2) An intention to remain at this address indefinitely. (3) Possession of more substantial connections with the State of Alabama than with any other state. (b) Though certification of an address and an intent to remain in the state indefinitely shall be prerequisites to establishing status as a resident, ultimate determination of that status shall be made by the institution by evaluating the presence or absence of connections with the State of Alabama. Section 40-18-31.2 Factor presence nexus standard for business activity. (a)(1) Individuals who are residents or domiciliaries of this state and business entities that are organized or commercially domiciled in this state have substantial nexus with this state. Section 19-3B-813 Duty to inform and report. (a) Except as otherwise provided in Section 19-3B-603, the following rules apply: (1) A trustee shall keep the current permissible distributees of income or principal of the trust reasonably informed about the administration of the trust and of the material facts necessary for them to protect their interests.
