(a) Within the time specified in the notice, but not more than 30 days from the date the notice is given, any person, firm, or corporation having an interest in the building or structure may file a written request for a hearing before the governing body of the city, together with the objections to the finding by the city governing body that the building or structure is unsafe to the extent of becoming a public nuisance. The filing of the request shall hold in abeyance any action on the finding of the city governing body until a determination thereon is made by the city governing body. (a) Whenever in the opinion of the city official or any other city employee designated by the city manager, a nuisance exists, the official shall order the owner of the property on which the nuisance is located to abate the condition. (b) The enforcing official shall give the owner written notice in person or by first class mail. Section 26-10A-19 Investigation. (a) A pre-placement investigation shall be made to determine the suitability of each petitioner and the home in which the adoptee will be placed. The investigation shall include a criminal background investigation and any other circumstances which might be relevant to the placement of an adoptee with the petitioners. A copy of the pre-placement investigation shall be filed with the court when the petition for adoption is filed.
