Section 34-22-4 Limitation on application of chapter. (a) It is not the intent of this chapter to prevent any school teacher, welfare worker, state, county, municipality, or other public board, body, agency, institution, or official from determining in the course of their official duties the probable need of visual services; provided, that the aforenamed person or agency does not attempt to examine, diagnose, prescribe, or recommend any particular practitioner and complies with the provisions of Section 38-1-2. (a) Separate license for each place of business. - Not more than one place of business shall be maintained under the same license, but the supervisor may issue additional licenses to the same licensee upon his compliance with all the provisions of this chapter governing the issuance of the first or original license. (a) A violation of the notification provisions of this chapter is an unlawful trade practice under the Alabama Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Chapter 19 of this title, but does not constitute a criminal offense under Section 8-19-12.
