Section 34-1-8 Registration of public accountants. Written evidence of registration as public accountants shall be issued to: (1) Any person who is a resident of this state, or practices accounting herein, who has attained the age of 19 years, and who is of good moral character and a citizen of the United States or has declared his or her intent to become a citizen, and who meets the requirements of paragraphs a., b., c., or d. of this subdivision, may, upon payment of an initial registration fee to be fixed by the board, register with the board as a public accountant on or before October 1, 1974: a. (a) Every person who applies for an initial Alabama driver's license issued by the Department of Public Safety under this article shall be given and successfully pass an examination before the issuance of a driver's license. The proprietor, lessee, or manager of any cotton gin shall procure on or before July 1 of each year from the commissioner a permit to do business as a cotton ginner, the application for which shall be made upon forms to be furnished by the commissioner.
