Section 21-3A-3 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this chapter have the following respective meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) COUNCIL. The Interagency Coordinating Council as established in Section 21-3A-4. (2) EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES. Any developmental services that: a. Are provided under public supervision. b. Are designed to meet the developmental needs of each eligible child and the needs of the family related to enhancing the development of the child. c. Are selected in collaboration with the parents. d. Are provided by qualified personnel as determined by the personnel standards of the state, the standards of the early intervention program, and the regulations. e. Are provided in conformity with an individualized family service plan. f. Section 29-2-102 Oversight Committee - Assistance; compensation; expenses. The Secretary of the Senate, the Clerk of the House of Representatives, the Legislative Reference Service, the Legislative Fiscal Office, the Examiners of Public Accounts and the council created pursuant to Section 29-2-105 shall provide any assistance as may be necessary at the committee's request. (a)(1) There is established in determined geographic regions of the state one or more autism centers whose purpose is to provide nonresidential resource and training services for persons of all ages and of all levels of intellectual functioning who have any of the following: a. Autism. b. A pervasive developmental disorder that is not otherwise specified. c. (a) Funds shall be appropriated by the Legislature to the Alabama Statewide Emergency Notification System Fund within the recovery fund for the purposes of establishing, implementing, maintaining, and operating the system, and, thereafter, shall be appropriated annually by the Legislature for continuous maintenance and operation of the system.
