Section 29-6-4 Compensation and expenses of members. (a) The House Legislative Council succeeds
to and is vested with all the powers previously exercised by the House Members of the Legislative
Council. (b) The Senate Legislative Council succeeds to and is vested with all the powers
previously exercised by the members of the Senate elected to the Legislative Council. (c)
A reference in any law to any entity all or a portion of the powers of which are succeeded
to by the Legislative Council, the House Legislative Council, or the Senate Legislative Council,
shall be deemed a reference to the Legislative Council, the House Legislative Council, or
the Senate Legislative Council. (d) All personnel, funds, papers, and property of any entity
all or a portion of the powers of which are succeeded to by the Legislative Council, as determined
by the Legislative Council, shall be transferred to the Legislative Council on October 1,

Section 45-37A-54.63 Board of directors. Such authority formed under this subpart shall constitute
a public benefit agency of the State of Alabama and shall have a board of directors of nine
members selected as herein provided. Such board of directors shall constitute the governing
body of the authority. The members of the board of directors shall serve without compensation,
except they shall be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in and about the performance
of their duties hereunder. No member of the board of directors shall be an officer of the

Section 11-65-5 Composition of commission; terms; qualifications; removal from office. (a)
Every commission shall have five members, which shall constitute its governing body. All powers
of a commission shall be exercised by its members or pursuant to their authorization. The
mayor or other chief executive officer of the sponsoring municipality and the president or
other designated presiding officer of the county commission of the host county shall each

Section 29-6-7 Powers and duties of Legislative Council. (a) In addition to the powers otherwise
provided in this chapter, the Legislative Council shall: (1) Approve budget requests, provide
accounting services, make purchases, and provide mail distribution, property inventory, telephone
service, electronic media services, recycling services, and building maintenance services
