Section 29-2-122 Joint Legislative Oversight committee - Assistance; compensation of members;
expenses. The Secretary of the Senate, the Clerk of the House of Representatives, the Legislative
Reference Service, the Legislative Fiscal Office, and the Examiners of Public Accounts shall
provide any assistance as may be necessary at the committee's request. Each member of the
committee shall be entitled to his or her regular legislative compensation, his or her per
diem and travel expenses for each day he or she attends a meeting of the committee which shall
be paid out of any funds appropriated for the use of the Legislature, upon warrants drawn
on the state Comptroller upon requisitions signed by the committee's chair; provided, however,

As far as practical all meetings of the committee shall be held in the State House building
or in the State Capitol and be opened to the public. The committee may expend funds for the
purpose of correspondence with prospective witnesses, in preparation of reports, and in general
expenses incident to the work of the committee. Each member of the committee shall receive

Section 31-9A-15 Joint legislative committee; powers. (a) The Joint Legislative Committee on
Homeland Security Oversight is created. The committee shall be composed of three members of
the Senate, one appointed by the President of the Senate, one appointed by the President Pro

Section 36-21-1 Payment of fees and costs of defense of state law enforcement officers in certain
cases. Any law enforcement officer of the state of Alabama who is sued or prosecuted for any
act committed or done within the line and scope of his duties and authority will be reimbursed
by the state for legal counsel fees paid, the fees of witnesses paid by him and costs of court
he paid out in defending the civil action or prosecution; provided, that the total amount
