Section 29-2-2 Creation; composition; appointment. (a) There is created a continuing
permanent joint transportation committee of the Legislature to be known as the Joint Transportation
Committee. The committee shall consist of 13 members of the Senate appointed by the President
of the Senate and 13 members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the
House of Representatives, one senator and one house member to be a resident of each present
United States congressional district in the state, one senator and one house member to be
a resident of each Alabama Department of Transportation region, and one senator and one house

Section 23-1-293 Designating Committee. (a) The Designating Committee shall consist
of a state legislator to be appointed by the Governor, a state Senator appointed by the President
Pro Tempore of the Senate, a member of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker

Section 36-32-13 Joint Legislative Oversight Committee; transfer of certain employees
to State Merit System; membership of commission. (a) There is created the Joint Legislative
Oversight Committee of the Alabama Firefighters' Personnel Standards and Education Commission.

Section 29-2-3 Meetings; chair and vice-chair; quorum; replacement members; clerical
assistance. The Joint Transportation Committee shall meet the fourth Wednesday of January,
April, July, and October at 1:30 p.m. at the Alabama State House. At the second quarterly

(a) There is hereby created the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program-II
