Section 29-2-200 Creation; composition; meetings; compensation; powers and duties. (a) The
Legislative Council succeeds to the powers and duties of the Legislative Building Authority.
(b) The powers and duties of the Legislative Council shall include all of the following: (1)
Accepting title to State House property. (2) Except as otherwise provided by law, providing
for the management and supervision, administration, improvement, operation, and maintenance
of such State House property. (3) Taking any other action considered necessary by the Legislative
Council to ensure sufficient space and facilities for the functions of the Legislative Department.

Section 29-6-7 Powers and duties of Legislative Council. (a) In addition to the powers otherwise
provided in this chapter, the Legislative Council shall: (1) Approve budget requests, provide
accounting services, make purchases, and provide mail distribution, property inventory, telephone
service, electronic media services, recycling services, and building maintenance services
for the Legislative Department, and all agencies and entities, respectively, therein. (2)

County and the municipalities located therein in their pursuits therefor and to provide for

(a) On October 1, 2019, the employees and staff of the Alabama Support Team for Evidence-based
