Section 8-15-33 Lien of owner, etc., of self-service storage facility upon personal property
located at facility. Where a rental agreement, as defined in subdivision (7) of Section 8-15-31,
is entered into between the owner and the occupant, the owner of a self-service storage facility
and his heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns shall have a lien upon all
personal property located at a self-service storage facility for rent, labor, or other charges,
present or future, in relation to the personal property and for expenses necessary for its
preservation or expenses reasonably incurred in its sale or other disposition pursuant to
this article. The lien attaches as of the date the personal property is brought to the self-service
storage facility and continues so long as the owner retains possession and until the default
is corrected, or a sale is conducted, or the property is otherwise disposed of to satisfy

(a) If such action shall be necessary in order to comply with any federal legislation relating
to federal aid in construction of roads and highways, the authority may authorize the State

Section 33-2-9 Application of proceeds of facilities; payment of deficiency where proceeds
are insufficient to cover expenses. The proceeds of the handling and operation of improvements
and facilities constructed pursuant to this article shall be applied as follows: All expenses

Section 40-10-28 Disposition of excess arising from sale. (a)(1) The excess arising from the
sale of any real estate remaining after paying the amount of the decree of sale, including
costs and expenses subsequently accruing, shall be paid over to a person or entity who has
redeemed the property as authorized in Section 40-10-120 or any other provisions of Alabama
law authorizing redemption from a tax sale, provided proof that the person or entity requesting
payment of the excess has properly redeemed the property is presented to the county commission
within three years after the tax sale has occurred. The county commission may retain any interest
earned on those funds. Until and unless the property is redeemed, the excess funds from the
