Section 34-9-80 Definitions. As used in this article, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ANALGESIA. The diminution or elimination of pain in the conscious patient. (2) ANXIOLYSIS. A pharmacological induced state, oral or inhalation, where a patient experiences a diminution of anxiety. (3) BOARD. The Alabama Board of Dental Examiners. (4) ENTERAL. Any technique of administration in which the agent is absorbed through the gastrointestinal (GI) tract or oral mucosa (i.e., oral, rectal, sub lingual). (5) INHALATION. A technique of administration in which a gaseous or volatile agent is introduced into the pulmonary tree and the primary effect is due to absorption through the pulmonary bed. (6) LOCALIZED ANESTHESIA. The elimination of sensations, especially pain, in one part of the body by the topical application or regional injection of a drug. (7) ORAL CONSCIOUS SEDATION. Section 36-18-50 Legislative findings. The Legislature finds, determines, and declares the following: (1) Driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance continues to be a major problem on the highways of our state and causes the death or injury of thousands of our citizens each year. (2) The Legislature should use whatever authority is available to it to discourage driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, including the levying of fines therefor at a level which will discourage such activity. Section 2-22-9 Inspection fee; monthly statement; collection fee; disposition of fees; overpayments; examination, review, audit of sales records. (a) There shall be paid to the commissioner for all commercial fertilizer sold in this state for use therein or sold for importation into this state for use therein an inspection fee established by the board not to exceed seventy-five cents ($.75) per ton; provided, that sales to manufacturers or exchanges between them are hereby exempted.
