Section 34-24-217 Grounds for refusal, suspension, or revocation of license. (a) The board
shall refuse to issue a license to any person and, after notice and hearing in accordance
with its regulations and rules, shall suspend or revoke the license of any person who has:
(1) Practiced physical therapy other than upon the referral of a physician licensed to practice
medicine or surgery, a dentist licensed to practice dentistry, a licensed chiropractor, a
licensed assistant to a physician acting pursuant to a valid supervisory agreement, or a licensed
certified registered nurse practitioner in a valid collaborative practice agreement with a
licensed physician, except as provided in Section 34-24-210.1, or practiced as a physical
therapist assistant other than under the direction of a licensed physical therapist; (2) Used
drugs or intoxicating liquors to an extent which affects his or her professional competency;

Section 34-29-111 Duties of board; Alabama Veterinary Professionals Wellness Committee; liability.
(a) It shall be the duty and obligation of the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners
to promote the early identification, intervention, treatment, and rehabilitation of veterinary
professionals licensed to practice veterinary medicine or veterinary technology in Alabama
who may be impaired by reason of illness, inebriation, excessive use of drugs, narcotics,
alcohol, chemicals, or other substances, or as a result of any physical or mental condition.

Section 34-9-6.1 Mobile dental facilities or portable dental operations. (a) For purposes of
this section, the following words have the following meanings: (1) DENTAL HOME. The dental
home is the ongoing relationship between the dentist and the patient, inclusive of all aspects
of oral health care, delivered in a comprehensive, continuously accessible, coordinated, and
family-centered way. (2) MOBILE DENTAL FACILITY. Any self-contained facility in which dentistry
or dental hygiene is practiced which may be moved, towed, or transported from one location

Section 40-12-248 License taxes and registration fees - Trucks or truck tractors - Generally.
(a) For each truck or truck tractor using the public highways of this state, annual license
taxes and registration fees based on the gross vehicle weight in pounds are imposed and shall
be charged. For the purposes of this section, the term "gross vehicle weight" shall
