Section 20-2-190 Penalties; sale of ephedrine, etc.; Alabama Drug Abuse Task Force. (a) Any person who manufactures, sells, transfers, receives, or possesses a listed precursor chemical violates this article if the person: (1) Knowingly fails to comply with the reporting requirements of this article; (2) Knowingly makes a false statement in a report or record required by this article or the rules adopted thereunder; (3) Is required by this article to have a listed precursor chemical license or permit, and is a person as defined by this article, and knowingly or deliberately fails to obtain such a license or permit. An offense under this subsection shall constitute a Class C felony. Section 40-12-253 Ad valorem taxation of motor vehicles. (a) Effective January 1, 2000, ad valorem taxes on motor vehicles shall be assessed and the tax collected forward on a current basis to coincide with the collection of motor vehicle license taxes and registration fees. Section 8-17-87 Inspection fee. (a) An inspection fee is imposed on the ultimate consumer of gasoline at the rate of two cents ($.02) per gallon, if the excise tax levied on gasoline under Section 40-17-325(a)(1) is refunded by the Department of Revenue unless the ultimate consumer is specifically exempted from the inspection fee by this code. The Department of Revenue is authorized to reduce the excise tax refund by the amount due for the inspection fee.
