Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation. By establishing an independent Alabama Tax Tribunal within the executive branch of government, this chapter provides taxpayers with a means of resolving controversies that insures both the appearance and the reality of due process and fundamental fairness. The tax tribunal shall provide hearings in all tax matters, except those specified by statute, and render decisions and orders relating thereto. (a) Documents, materials, or other information, including the ORSA Summary Report, in the possession of or control of the Department of Insurance that are obtained by, created by, or disclosed to the commissioner or any other person under this chapter, are recognized by this state as being proprietary and to contain trade secrets. Section 27-45A-4 Licensure of pharmacy benefits managers. (a) (1) Effective January 1, 2020, to conduct business in this state, a pharmacy benefits manager must be licensed by the commissioner. Section 33-5-75 Authority of Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources to cancel certification or to suspend or revoke privilege of operating vessel; procedures. (a) The Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources may cancel any boater safety certification upon determining that the holder of the certification was not entitled to the issuance or that the holder failed to give the correct or required information in the application for certification.
