Section 40-14A-1 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall mean: (a) ALABAMA S CORPORATION. An S corporation defined under Section 40-18-160. (b) C CORPORATION. A corporation other than an Alabama S corporation. (c) CODE. The Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended from time to time. (d) CORPORATION. An entity, including a limited liability company electing to be taxed as a corporation for federal income tax purposes, through which business can be conducted while offering limited liability to the owners of the entity with respect to some or all of the obligations of the entity, other than a limited liability entity or a disregarded entity. Section 45-39-40.21 Barbers commission. (a) There is hereby created a barbers commission for the county to which his article applies. The Governor shall appoint three persons, each of whom immediately prior to the date of his or her appointment has been a resident of the county for three years, and who has had at least five years' experience as a barber, one member to be appointed for a term of one year, one member to be appointed for a term of two years, and one member to be appointed for a term of three years. Section 27-1-17 Limitation periods for payment of claims; overdue claims; retroactive denials, adjustments, etc.; penalties. (a) Each insurer, health service corporation, and health benefit plan that issues or renews any policy of accident or health insurance providing benefits for medical or hospital expenses for its insured persons shall pay for services rendered by Alabama health care providers within 45 calendar days upon receipt of a clean written claim or 30 calendar days upon receipt of a clean electronic claim. Section 27-6B-4 Contract requirements. (a) Unless there is a written contract between the controlling producer and the insurer approved by the board of directors of the insurer and specifying the responsibilities of each party, a controlled insurer shall not accept business from a controlling producer and a controlling producer shall not place business with a controlled insurer.
