Section 10A-20-7.01 Definitions. For the purposes of this article, the following terms shall
have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) BOARD OF DIRECTORS. The
board of directors of the corporation created under this article. (2) CORPORATION. An Alabama
industrial development corporation created under this article. (3) FINANCIAL INSTITUTION.
Any banking, mortgaging corporation or trust company, savings and loan association, insurance
company or related corporation, partnership, foundation, pension funds or other institution
engaged primarily in lending or investing funds. (4) LOAN LIMIT. For any member, the maximum
amount permitted to be outstanding at one time on loans made by the member to the corporation,
as determined under the provision of this article. (5) MEMBER. Any financial institution authorized
to do business within this state which shall undertake to lend money to a corporation created

Section 27-5B-15 Qualified U.S. financial institutions. (a) For purposes of subdivision (3)
of Section 27-5B-14, a qualified U.S. financial institution means an institution that meets
all of the following: (1) Is organized or, in the case of a U.S. office of a foreign banking
organization, licensed, under the laws of the United States or any state thereof. (2) Is regulated,
supervised, and examined by U.S. federal or state authorities having regulatory authority
over banks and trust companies. (3) Has been determined by either the commissioner or the
Securities Valuation Office of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners to meet
such standards of financial condition and standing as are considered necessary and appropriate
to regulate the quality of financial institutions whose letters of credit will be acceptable

Section 27-31A-4 Risk retention groups not chartered in this state. Risk retention groups chartered
and licensed in states other than this state and seeking to do business as a risk retention
group in this state shall comply with the laws of this state as follows: (1) NOTICE OF OPERATIONS

Section 41-14A-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall
have the following meanings: (1) AVERAGE MONTHLY BALANCE OF PUBLIC DEPOSITS. The sum of the
average daily balances of public deposits, meaning the net average daily balances of public
deposits determined without any deduction for deposit insurance, for the reported month and

Section 5-19-31 Nonapplicability of chapter to certain transactions; certain laws not repealed
or amended. (a) The provisions of this chapter, except the provisions of subdivision (1) of
Section 5-19-1 and Section 5-19-3, shall not apply (i) to any consumer credit transaction
or other transaction involving an interest in real property or the sale, lease, or mortgage

Section 27-31B-8 Formation of captive insurance companies in this state. (a) A pure captive
insurance company or a protected cell captive insurance company shall be formed as a stock
or mutual insurer, or as a nonprofit or limited liability company with its capital divided

Section 27-42-5 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following

Section 27-44-8 Powers and duties of association. (a) If a member insurer is an impaired insurer,
the association may, in its discretion and subject to any conditions imposed by the association
that do not impair the contractual obligations of the impaired insurer, and that are approved

Section 27-60-2 Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact. The State of Alabama hereby
agrees to the following interstate compact known as the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation
