Section 27-40-9 Service charges; prepayment of obligation. (a) For the purpose of this section,
"consumer insurance premium finance agreement" means an insurance premium finance
agreement as defined in Section 27-40-1 wherein the insurance contracts which are the subject
of the premium finance agreement are for personal, family, or household purposes or where
the premiums for those agreements are two thousand dollars ($2,000) or less. For the purpose
of this section, "commercial premium finance agreement" means any insurance premium

Section 27-31D-1 Premium discount or insurance rate reduction - Construction and certification.
(a) Commencing on May 14, 2009, insurance companies shall provide a premium discount or insurance
rate reduction in an amount and manner as established in subsection (j) and pursuant to Section
27-31D-3. In addition, insurance companies may also offer additional adjustments in deductible,
other credit rate differentials, or a combination thereof, collectively referred to as adjustments.
These adjustments shall be available under the terms specified in this section to any owner
who builds or locates a new insurable property, in the State of Alabama, to resist loss due
to hurricane or other catastrophic windstorm events. (b) To obtain the adjustment provided

Section 27-10-26 Eligibility of insurers for placement of surplus line insurance. (a) A surplus
line broker shall not knowingly place surplus line insurance with an insurer that is unsound
financially, or that is ineligible under this section. The broker shall ascertain the financial
condition of the unauthorized insurer before placing insurance therewith. (b) The broker shall
not so insure with any of the following: (1) With any insurer which is not an authorized insurer
in at least one state of the United States for the kind of insurance involved, and with capital
or surplus, or both, amounting to at least five million dollars ($5,000,000); or guaranteed

Section 27-40-11 Procedure for cancellation of insurance contract upon default. (a) When a
premium finance agreement contains a power of attorney enabling the premium finance company
to cancel any insurance contract or contracts listed in the agreement, the insurance contract
or contracts shall not be cancelled by the premium finance company unless such cancellation
is effectuated in accordance with this section. (b) Not less than 10-day written notice shall
be mailed to the insured, at his last known address as shown on the records of the premium
finance company, of the intent of the premium finance company to cancel the insurance contract
unless the default is cured within such 10-day period. (c) After the notice in subsection
(b) of this section has expired, the premium service company may thereafter request, in the

Section 27-10-21 Report of surplus line broker. Within 30 days after the effective date of
any such insurance, the surplus line broker shall file a written report with the commissioner
setting forth facts from which it can be determined whether under Section 27-10-20 the coverage
has been lawfully placed as a surplus line. If so required by the commissioner, the report
