Section 27-31A-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following
meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) COMMISSIONER.
The Insurance Commissioner of this state or the commissioner, director, or superintendent
of insurance in any other state. (2) COMPLETED OPERATIONS LIABILITY. Liability arising out
of the installation, maintenance, or repair of any product at a site which is not owned or
controlled by either of the following: a. Any person who performs that work. b. Any person
who hires an independent contractor to perform that work, but shall include liability for
activities which are completed or abandoned before the date of the occurrence giving rise
to the liability. (3) DOMICILE. For purposes of determining the state in which a purchasing
group is domiciled: a. For a corporation, the state in which the purchasing group is incorporated.

Section 10A-20-6.14 Filing of annual statements. (a) On or before the first day of March of
each year, every company transacting business under this article in this state shall file
with the Commissioner of Insurance a statement showing the amount of gross dues received by
it for business done in this state during the preceding calendar year ending December 31 and
the number of contracts or certificates outstanding. (b) The corporation shall, annually,
on or before the first day of March, file in the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance a
statement, verified by at least two of the principal officers of the corporation, showing
its condition on December 31 next preceding, which shall be in the form, and shall contain

Section 27-36A-4 Actuarial opinion of reserves. (a) Actuarial opinion prior to the operative
date of the valuation manual as defined by Section 27-36A-15. (1) GENERAL. Every life insurance
company doing business in this state shall annually submit the opinion of a qualified actuary
as to whether the reserves and related actuarial items held in support of the policies and
contracts specified by the commissioner by regulation are computed appropriately, are based
on assumptions which satisfy contractual provisions, are consistent with prior reported amounts,
and comply with applicable laws of this state. The commissioner, by regulation, shall define
the specifics of this opinion and add any other items deemed to be necessary to its scope.

Section 27-34-32 Accident or health and total or permanent disability insurance contracts.
(a) No domestic, foreign, or alien society authorized to do business in this state shall issue
or deliver in this state any certificate or other evidence of any contract of accident insurance
or health insurance or of any total and permanent disability insurance contract unless and
until the form thereof, together with the form of application and all riders or endorsements
for use in connection therewith, shall have been filed with the commissioner. (b) The commissioner
shall have power, from time to time, to make, alter, and supersede reasonable regulations

Section 27-11-2 Prohibition against transaction of insurance business, etc., in state without
license; exceptions. It shall be unlawful for any insurer to transact the business of insurance
in this state or to enter into a contract for insurance in this state without first obtaining

Section 27-31B-11 Grounds and procedures for suspension or revocation of license. (a) The license
of a captive insurance company to do an insurance business in this state may be suspended
or revoked by the commissioner for any of the following reasons: (1) Insolvency or impairment
of capital or surplus. (2) Failure to meet the requirements of Section 27-31B-6. (3) Refusal

Section 27-44-6 Creation of association; membership; accounts; supervision. (a) There is created
a nonprofit unincorporated legal entity to be known as the Alabama Life and Disability Insurance
Guaranty Association. All member insurers shall be and remain members of the association as
a condition of their authority to transact insurance in this state. The association shall
perform its functions under the plan of operation established and approved under Section 27-44-10
and shall exercise its powers through a board of directors established under Section 27-44-7.
For purposes of administration and assessment the association shall maintain three accounts:
