Section 27-34-53 False statements. Any person who willfully makes a false statement of any
material fact or thing in a sworn statement as to the death or disability of a certificate
holder in any fraternal benefit society, for the purpose of procuring payment of a benefit
named in the certificate of such holder, and any person who willfully makes any false statement
in any verified report or declaration under oath required or authorized by law as to fraternal
benefit societies shall be guilty of perjury and shall be proceeded against and punished as

Section 34-27A-20 Revocation or suspension of license - Grounds; disciplinary proceedings;
administrative fines. (a) The board may investigate the actions of a licensed real property
appraiser on complaint or on its own motion, and may revoke or suspend the license, levy fines

Section 27-1-17 Limitation periods for payment of claims; overdue claims; retroactive denials,
adjustments, etc.; penalties. (a) Each insurer, health service corporation, and health benefit
plan that issues or renews any policy of accident or health insurance providing benefits for
medical or hospital expenses for its insured persons shall pay for services rendered by Alabama
health care providers within 45 calendar days upon receipt of a clean written claim or 30

public assistance means money or property provided directly or indirectly to eligible persons
