Section 27-19-1 Applicability of article. Nothing in this article shall apply to or affect:
(1) Any policy of liability or workmen's compensation insurance, with or without supplementary
expense coverage therein; (2) Any group or blanket policy; (3) Life insurance, endowment,
or annuity contracts, or contracts supplemental thereto which contain only such provisions
relating to disability insurance as: a. Provide additional benefits in case of death or dismemberment
or loss of sight by accident; or b. Operate to safeguard such contracts against lapse or to
give a special surrender value, or special benefit or an annuity in the event that the insured
or annuitant becomes totally and permanently disabled, as defined by the contract or supplemental

Section 27-42-5 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following
meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) ACCOUNT. Any one

Section 27-44-2 Purpose of chapter. (a) The purpose of this chapter is to protect, subject
to certain limitations, the persons specified in Section 27-44-3(a) against failure in the
performance of contractual obligations, under life and disability insurance policies and annuity
contracts specified in Section 27-44-3(b), because of the impairment or insolvency of the

Section 35-8-2 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have
the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) ASSOCIATION. The entity responsible
for the administration and management of the condominium property. (2) COMMON ELEMENTS. A

Section 35-8A-103 Definitions. In the declaration and bylaws, unless specifically provided
otherwise or the context otherwise requires, and in this chapter, the following terms are
