Section 22-22A-5 Powers and functions of department; representation of department by Attorney General in legal actions. In addition to any other powers and functions which may be conferred upon it by law, the department is authorized beginning October 1, 1982 to: (1) Administer appropriate portions of Sections 9-7-10 through 9-7-20, which relate to permitting, regulatory and enforcement functions; administer and enforce the provisions and execute the functions of Chapter 28 of this title; Chapter 22 of this title; Article 2 of Chapter 23 of this title; Chapter 30 of this title; appropriate portions of Article 1 of Chapter 27 of this title; Sections 22-24-1 through 22-24-11; Sections 22-25-1 through 22-25-15; and Sections 22-36-1 through 22-36-10. Section 22-9A-12 New birth certificate upon adoption, legitimation, or paternity determination; availability of original certificate; contact preference form. (a) The State Registrar shall establish a new certificate of birth for a person born in this state upon receipt of any of the following: (1) A report of adoption as provided in Section 22-9A-11 or a report of adoption prepared and filed in accordance with the laws of another state, the District of Columbia, a territory of the United States, or a foreign country, or a certified copy of the decree of adoption, together with the information necessary to identify the original certificate of birth and to establish a new certificate of birth. Every insurer shall file annually, on or before July 1, with the rating organization of which it is a member or subscriber, or with such other common agency representing a group of insurers as the department may approve, and with the department a statistical report showing a classification schedule of its premiums and its losses on all kinds of insurance to which this article is applicable, together with such other information as the department may deem necessary for the proper determination of the reasonableness and adequacy of rates. Section 27-36A-20 Small company alternative valuation. (a) A company calculating reserves under this section shall calculate reserves for ordinary life insurance, accident and health insurance contracts, credit life contracts, group life contracts, annuities, or deposit-type contracts in this state as if the policies were issued before the operative date of the valuation manual. For such policies issued after the operative date of the valuation manual, any mortality and interest rates defined by the valuation manual for net premium reserves shall be used.
