(a) For accident and health insurance contracts issued on or after the operative date of the valuation manual, the standard prescribed in the valuation manual is the minimum standard of valuation required under subsection (b) of Section 27-36A-3. Any insurer authorized to write disability insurance in this state shall have the power to issue blanket disability insurance. (a) Any rates, rating schedules, or rating manuals submitted to or filed with the Commissioner of the Department of Insurance for private passenger automobile liability insurance and private passenger automobile physical damage insurance shall include an appropriate reduction in premium charges if the principal operator is 55 years of age or older and has successfully completed a motor vehicle accident prevention course approved pursuant to this article.
