Section 40-27-1 Compact adopted; terms. The following Multistate Tax Compact is hereby approved, adopted and enacted into law by the State of Alabama: Multistate Tax Compact Article I. Purposes. The purposes of this compact are to: 1. Facilitate proper determination of state and local tax liability of multistate taxpayers, including the equitable apportionment of tax bases and settlement of apportionment disputes. 2. Promote uniformity or compatibility in significant components of tax systems. 3. Facilitate taxpayer convenience and compliance in the filing of tax returns and in other phases of tax administration. 4. Avoid duplicative taxation. Article II. Definitions. As used in this compact: 1. "State" means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or any territory or possession of the United States. 2. Section 27-40-9 Service charges; prepayment of obligation. (a) For the purpose of this section, "consumer insurance premium finance agreement" means an insurance premium finance agreement as defined in Section 27-40-1 wherein the insurance contracts which are the subject of the premium finance agreement are for personal, family, or household purposes or where the premiums for those agreements are two thousand dollars ($2,000) or less. Section 27-22-43 Outline of coverage and comprehensive policy checklist. (a) No homeowners personal lines residential property coverage insurance policy shall be delivered or issued for delivery in this state unless an appropriate outline of coverage and comprehensive policy checklist have been delivered to the policyholder prior to issuance, within 30 days after issuance of the policy under separate cover, or included in the policy when issued or mailed. The comprehensive policy checklist shall contain a list of provisions and elements, whether or not they are included in the policy being issued, in a format that allows the insurer to indicate what is and what is not included in the policy being issued. Section 27-17A-14 Surety bond. (a) As an alternative to the trust requirement of Section 27-17A-13, the details of which are set forth in Articles 3 and 4, a preneed provider may, with the prior approval of the commissioner, purchase a surety bond in an amount not less than the aggregate value of outstanding liabilities on undelivered preneed contracts for merchandise, services, and cash advances. For the purposes of this section, the term outstanding liabilities means the original retail amount of services and cash advances and the actual cost to the entity to provide the undelivered merchandise sold on each contract written after April 30, 2002.
