Section 27-55-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, these terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ABUSE. The occurrence of one or more of the following acts by a family or household member, as defined by subdivision (3) of subsection (b) of Section 15-10-3: a. Attempting to cause or intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing another person, including a minor child, bodily injury, severe emotional injury, or psychological trauma or conduct which constitutes the crime of rape. b. Intentionally following another person, including a minor child, without proper authority, under circumstances that place the person in reasonable fear of bodily injury or physical harm. c. Subjecting another person, including a minor child, to false imprisonment or kidnapping. d. Attempting to cause or intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing damage to property to intimidate or attempt to control the behavior of another person, including a minor child. e. Section 32-7A-2 Definitions. (a) For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, except in those instances where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: (1) CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE. Section 32-7A-3 Powers and duties of department. (a) The department shall administer and enforce the provisions of this chapter and shall make such reasonable rules and regulations concerning any matter administered in this chapter and shall provide for hearings upon the request of persons aggrieved by orders or acts of the department under the provisions of this chapter. (b) The department may prescribe and provide suitable notices and forms necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter. Section 32-7A-4 Liability insurance required. (a) No person shall operate, register, or maintain registration of, and no owner shall permit another person to operate, register, or maintain registration of, a motor vehicle designed to be used on a public highway unless the motor vehicle is covered by a liability insurance policy, a commercial automobile liability insurance policy, motor vehicle liability bond, or deposit of cash. (b)(1) The liability insurance policy or commercial automobile liability insurance policy shall be issued in amounts no less than the minimum amounts set for bodily injury or death and for destruction of property under Section 32-7-6(c). Section 27-34-33 Reinsurance. A domestic society may, by a reinsurance agreement, cede any individual risk or risks, in whole or in part, to an insurer, other than another fraternal benefit society, having the power to make such reinsurance and authorized to do business in this state or, if not so authorized, one which is approved by the commissioner; but no such society may reinsure substantially all of its insurance in force without the written permission of the commissioner.
