Section 27-30-13 Commissioner as agent for process; service of process; notice of change of
address. (a) Every mutual aid association, at the time of filing application for its certificate
of authority, shall, by a duly executed instrument filed with the commissioner, on a form
as designated and furnished by the commissioner, designate the principal office of the association
in this state and constitute and appoint the commissioner, and his successors in office, as
its true and lawful attorney upon whom all lawful process in actions or legal proceedings
against it may be served; and the association shall agree that any lawful process against
it which may be served upon its said attorney shall be of the same force and validity as if
served on the association itself and that the authority thereof shall continue in force irrevocably

Section 27-21A-2 Establishment of health maintenance organizations. (a) Notwithstanding any
law of this state to the contrary, any person may apply to the commissioner for and obtain
a certificate of authority to establish and operate a health maintenance organization in compliance
with this chapter. No person shall establish or operate a health maintenance organization
in this state without obtaining a certificate of authority under this chapter. A foreign corporation
may qualify under this chapter, subject to its registration to do business in this state as

Section 41-22-3 Definitions. The following words and phrases when used in this chapter shall
have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, except when the context otherwise

Section 27-3-24 Service of process on insurers - Appointment of commissioner as agent. (a)
Each insurer applying for a certificate of authority to transact business in this state shall
file with the commissioner an appointment of the commissioner and his successors in office,
on a form as furnished by the commissioner, as its attorney upon whom may be served all lawful
process in any action or proceeding against it in this state and therein shall agree that
any such process served upon such attorney shall be of the same force and validity as if served
on the insurer. The appointment shall be irrevocable, shall bind the insurer and any successor
in interest or to the assets or liabilities of the insurer and shall remain in effect as long

at the time of the pendency of an action involving the transacting of the business of insurance
or the act or occurrence complained of, shall be deemed to be an unauthorized insurer within
the meaning of this chapter, and service of process under such circumstances may be had as
