Section 11-3-11.3 Collection of local taxes - Department of Revenue. (a) Counties may, upon
request of the county commission, engage the Department of Revenue to collect and administer
any county sales, use, rental, lodgings, tobacco, or other local taxes for which there is
a corresponding state levy. Subject to subsections (d) and (e) below, the department shall
collect and administer a county sales, use, rental, lodgings, tobacco, or other tax for which
there is a corresponding state levy on behalf of the requesting county. Any county sales,
use, rental, or lodgings tax levy administered and collected by the Department of Revenue
pursuant to this section, whether the levy is imposed pursuant to the authority of Section
40-12-4, or any general, special, or local act of the Legislature, shall parallel the corresponding
state tax levy, except for the rate of tax, and shall be subject to all definitions, exceptions,

Section 25-13-12 Issuance of license; fees; emergency and temporary elevator mechanic licenses;
renewal; continuing education. (a) Upon approval of an application, the administrator may
issue a license which shall be renewable biennially. The fee for such license and for any
renewal thereafter shall be set by the board. (b) Whenever an emergency exists in the state
due to disaster, act of God, or work stoppage and the number of persons in the state holding
licenses granted by the administrator is insufficient to cope with the emergency, the licensed

of payment. (a) There is hereby created within the Revenue Commissioner's Office of Blount
County a license division which shall issue all motor vehicle licenses issued through the

Section 34-8-2 Licensure and classification of contractors. (a) Any person desiring to be licensed
or desiring a renewal of an existing license as a general contractor in this state shall be
a citizen of the United States or, if not a citizen of the United States, a person who is
legally present in the United States with appropriate documentation from the federal government,
and shall make and file with the board, not less than 30 days prior to any regular meeting

Section 40-12-260 Transfer of license plates; registration procedures; receipts; penalty. (a)
Effective January 1, 1998, license plates, except for license plates issued under the provisions
of Section 40-12-290, et seq., or any subsequent enactment which authorizes special license
plates based on vehicle age, shall not be transferable between motor vehicle owners and the

Section 45-7-241 Levy of tax; disposition of funds; construction with state sales tax statutes.
(a) The following words, terms, and phrases as used in this section shall have the following
