Section 27-44-18 Stay of proceedings; reopening default judgments. All proceedings in which the insolvent insurer is a party in any court in this state shall be stayed 180 days from the date an order of liquidation, rehabilitation, or conservation is final to permit proper legal action by the association on any matters germane to its powers or duties. As to judgment under any decision, order, verdict, or finding based on default the association may apply to have such judgment set aside by the same court that made such judgment and shall be permitted to defend against such suit on the merits. Section 34-29-130 Permit to purchase, possess, and use certain agents for euthanizing animals. (a) The State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, hereinafter called the board, shall adopt rules providing for the issuance of permits authorizing the purchase, possession, and use of sodium pentobarbital, sodium pentobarbital with lidocaine, or other similar agents at facilities approved by the board that are operated for the collection and care of stray, neglected, abandoned, or unwanted dogs and cats, or federally licensed wildlife rehabilitation centers, for the purpose of euthanizing injured, sick, or abandoned animals which are in their lawful possession. The rules shall set forth guidelines for the proper storage and handling of the substances and other provisions as may be necessary to ensure that these drugs are used solely for the purpose set forth in this section. Section 2-16-3 Permit required; refusal or revocation of permit; appeal and review. (a) No person, firm or corporation shall operate a public hatchery, and no chick dealer or jobber shall operate within this state without first obtaining an annual permit from the state Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries to so operate. The fee to be paid for such annual permit shall be established by the Board of Agriculture and Industries not to exceed sixty dollars ($60), which shall be due and payable on January 1 of each year; and, unless such permit fee is paid within 30 days, a 15 percent delinquent penalty shall be added. (a) Every applicant for an original driver license, temporary instruction and learner's permit, and motor driven cycle operator's license, shall pay an examination fee of five dollars ($5) to the Alabama Department of Public Safety upon applying to the officer, state trooper, or duly authorized agent of the Director of Public Safety, or to one of them where there is more than one designated by the Director of Public Safety.
