Section 16-5-10 Additional powers and duties of commission. The commission shall exercise the
following powers and duties in addition to those otherwise specified in this article: (1)
To cause to be made such surveys and evaluations of higher education as are believed necessary

Section 26-10A-12 Persons who may take consent or relinquishments; forms. (a) A consent of
the natural mother taken prior to the birth of a child shall be signed or confirmed before
a judge of probate. At the time of taking the consent the judge shall explain to the consenting

Section 36-21-185 Alabama Firefighters Annuity and Benefit Fund. (a) A special fund is established
for the purpose of providing retirement allowances and other benefits for members of the fund.
The fund shall be known as the Alabama Firefighters Annuity and Benefit Fund. All amounts
received by the board shall be paid into the fund. (b) The board shall deliver all moneys
not currently needed for the functioning of the board to the ERS for investment and reinvestment
