Section 27-21B-9 Garnishment of wages. (a) The Alabama Medicaid Agency may garnish the wages, salary, or other employment income of any person who is required by a court or administrative order to provide coverage of the costs of health services to a child who is eligible for medical assistance and has received payment from a third party for the cost of services for the child but has not used the payments to reimburse the other parent or guardian of the child, the provider of services, or the Alabama Medicaid Agency for its payments made. Current or past due child support shall have priority over claims for the costs of the services. (b) In addition to the powers granted in subsection (a), the Alabama Medicaid Agency may notify the State Department of Revenue of any amounts due under this section. Section 26-10B-8 Department to provide coverage and benefits not provided by residence state; procedure for reimbursement. The State Department of Human Resources shall provide coverage and benefits for a child who is in another state and who is covered by an adoption assistance agreement made by the State Department of Human Resources for coverage or benefits, if any, not provided by the residence state. To this end, the adoptive parents acting for the child must obtain prior approval from the State Department of Human Resources and may submit evidence of payment for services or benefit amounts not payable in the residence state and shall be reimbursed therefor. (a) Within 12 months of the date a child is removed from the home and placed in out-of-home care, and not less frequently than every 12 months thereafter during the continuation of the child in out-of-home care, the juvenile court shall hold a permanency hearing.
