Section 27-19-55 Standards for loss ratios. Medicare supplement policies shall return to policyholders benefits which are reasonable in relation to the premium charged. The commissioner shall issue reasonable regulations to establish minimum standards for loss ratios of Medicare supplement policies on the basis of incurred claims experience, or incurred health care expenses where coverage is provided by a health maintenance organization on a service rather than reimbursement basis, and earned premiums in accordance with accepted actuarial principles and practices. Section 27-21A-14 Regulation of producers. (a) Unless exempted pursuant to subsection (c), health maintenance organizations in this state shall only solicit enrollees or otherwise market their services through producers duly licensed in accordance with Chapters 7 and 8A of this title. (b) The commissioner shall, after notice and hearing, promulgate such reasonable rules and regulations as are necessary to provide for the licensing of producers.
