Section 27-2-50 Established; appointment, term of office, and compensation of chief. There
is hereby established within the Department of Insurance a Receivership Division to be managed
and headed by a chief of said division. The chief of said Receivership Division shall be appointed
by the Commissioner of Insurance and shall serve at his pleasure. The compensation of said
chief shall be fixed by the commissioner; except, that said compensation shall not exceed
that of the highest paid division chief in the Insurance Department under the Merit System.

Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence
in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with
tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to
requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer
has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among
other things, on the hazards of litigation. By establishing an independent Alabama Tax Tribunal

Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Commission, created to identify, develop, implement, and administer
