Section 27-2-13 Conflicts of interest; additional compensation, etc. (a) The commissioner or any deputy, examiner, assistant, or employee of the commissioner shall not be financially interested, directly or indirectly, in any insurer, insurance agency, or insurance transaction except as a policy holder or claimant under a policy; except, that as to such matters wherein a conflict of interests does not exist on the part of any such individual, the commissioner may employ or retain, from time to time, insurance actuaries, accountants, or other professional personnel who are independently practicing their professions even though similarly employed or retained by insurers or others. The Interstate Compact for Juveniles is enacted into law and entered into with all jurisdictions mutually adopting the compact in the form substantially as follows: THE INTERSTATE COMPACT FOR JUVENILES Article I. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation.
