Section 34-13-1 Definitions. (a) For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have
the following meanings: (1) ACCREDITED SCHOOL or COLLEGE OF MORTUARY SCIENCE. A school or
college approved by the Alabama Board of Funeral Service and which maintains a course of instruction
of not less than 48 calendar weeks or four academic quarters or college terms and which gives
a course of instruction in the fundamental subjects including, but not limited to, the following:
a. Mortuary management and administration. b. Legal medicine and toxicology as it pertains
to funeral directing. c. Public health, hygiene, and sanitary science. d. Mortuary science,
to include embalming technique, in all its aspects; chemistry of embalming, color harmony;

Section 40-18-376 Investment credit; realization methods; regulations. (a) If provided for
in the project agreement, the incentivized company is allowed an investment credit in an annual
amount equal to 1.5 percent of the capital investment incurred as of the beginning of the
incentive period, to be used as follows: (1) To offset the income taxes found in this chapter,
or as an estimated tax payment of income taxes; (2) To offset the financial institution excise
tax found in Chapter 16; (3) To offset the insurance premium tax levied by Section 27-4A-3(a),
or as an estimated payment of insurance premium tax; (4) To offset utility taxes; or (5) To
offset some combination of the foregoing, so long as the same credit is used only once. The

Section 5-26-10 Continuing education for mortgage loan originators. (1) In general. In order
to meet the annual continuing education requirements referred to in Section 5-26-9(1)(b),
a licensed mortgage loan originator shall complete at least eight hours of education approved
in accordance with subsection (2), which shall include at least: (a) Three hours of federal
law and regulations; (b) Two hours of ethics, which shall include instruction on fraud, consumer
protection, and fair lending issues; and (c) Two hours of training related to lending standards
for the nontraditional mortgage product marketplace. (2) Approved educational courses. For
purposes of subsection (1), continuing education courses shall be reviewed and approved by
the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry based upon reasonable standards. Review

Section 27-31B-10 Examinations and investigations. (a) At least once in three years, and whenever
the commissioner determines it to be prudent, the commissioner shall visit each captive insurance
company and thoroughly inspect and examine its affairs to ascertain its financial condition,
its ability to fulfill its obligations, and whether it has complied with this chapter. The
commissioner, upon application, may enlarge the three-year period to five years, provided
the captive insurance company is subject to a comprehensive annual audit during that period
of a scope satisfactory to the commissioner by independent auditors approved by the commissioner.

Section 27-15-75 Calculation of adjusted premiums. (a)(1) This section shall not apply to policies
issued on or after the operative date of Section 27-15-78, as defined therein. Except as provided
in subsection (c), the adjusted premiums for any policy shall be calculated on an annual basis
and shall be such uniform percentage of the respective premiums specified in the policy for
each policy year, excluding extra premiums on a substandard policy, that the present value

Section 27-15-80 Proration of values; net value of paid-up additions. Any cash surrender value
and any paid-up nonforfeiture benefit available under the policy in the event of default in
a premium payment due at any time other than on the policy anniversary shall be calculated

Section 27-9A-13 Continuing education. (a) An individual who holds an independent adjuster
license and who is not exempt under subsection (b) shall satisfactorily complete a minimum
of 24 hours of continuing education courses as may be approved by the commissioner, of which
