Section 11-50-499 Bonds of officers and employees. All officers or employees of the board handling money or exercising authority over property of the municipality shall, before entering upon the discharge of their duties, give bond with some surety company authorized to do business in the State of Alabama, as surety and payable to the municipality, to be approved by the board, in such penalty as the board may prescribe, conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of his office or employment, and faithfully to account for all moneys received or property coming into his possession in the capacity of his employment. Section 2-29-4 Bonds of commission merchants; institution of civil actions upon bonds. Before any permit shall be issued, the applicant therefor shall make and execute to the State of Alabama a surety bond in the penal sum of $1,000.00, said bond to be filed in the office of the commissioner.
